Greensburg — Roberta Powers, 66, Greensburg, passed away Saturday, Dec. 29, 2012 at Columbus Regional Hospital.

She was born Oct. 26, 1946 in Shelbyville, the daughter of Doc and Genieva (Norris) Shanks.

She was a lifelong resident of Decatur County. Roberta was a member of Light House Church, and she enjoyed her grand-babies and doing puzzles.

She is survived by her daughters: Carla (Jeff) Wright of North Vernon, Wanda Ashman (Fred Hartman) of Austin; her sisters: Ruby Baker of Birmingham, Ala., Rosie Shanks of Fort Pierce, Florida, Ramona Kennedy of Greensburg, Cathy Morrow of North Vernon; her brothers, Earl Shanks and Buck Shanks both of Birmingham, Ala.; her 14 grandchildren and several great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her daughters: Lisa Ann Kennedy Lankford and Donna Kennedy; her sister, Caroline Oliphant; her brothers, Sonny Shanks and Jim Shanks.

Funeral services begin at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 2 at Bass & Gasper Funeral Home, Rev. Lee Creech and Rev. Ross Wright officiating.

Burial will follow at Mt. Aerie Cemetery in Letts.

Visitation will be from 4 until 8 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 1.
