Lela M. Gault, 80, of Greensburg passed away on Wednesday, March 10 at he residence.
She was born on November 17, 1929 in Decatur County to Fred and Elizabeth (Castor) Goins and has been a lifelong resident of Decatur County.
She graduated from Jackson Township High School in 1942 and was a homemaker and a farmer’s wife. She was a 50 year member of the Order of Eastern Star # 550 at Hartsville. She was a member of the Letts United Methodist Church. She enjoyed cooking, reading and attending the ball games of her sons and grandsons.
She was married to Harold K. Gault on March 24, 1949, and he preceded her in death on June 8, 2001.
She is survived by her sons Randy (Karen) Gault of Westport, Larry (Sheila) Gault of Vevay, Dan (Jayne) Gault of Westport and Jim (Ann) Gault of Greensburg; his sisters Virginia Mae Kielbasa of Phoenix, Ariz. and Betty (Leroy) Manlove of Newark, Delaware as well as 11 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Harold K. Gault, her sister Freida Hellmich and brother Harry "Bud" Goins.
A funeral service will be held on Saturday, March 13 at 10 a.m. at Bass & Gasper Funeral Home at Westport with Rev. Steve Malone officiating. Burial will be in Westport Cemetery.
Friends may call at the Bass & Gasper Funeral Home from 4 until 8 p.m. on Friday.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Hospice of Decatur County or the Alzheimer’s Association through the funeral home.
