Irvin L. Orr, 83


Irvin L. Orr, 83 of Napoleon, passed away Monday, March 8 at the Pierce County Nursing Home in Waycross, Ga.

He was born near Delaware on Dec. 28, 1926 to parents Andrew and Minnie Ahrens Orr. He was married to Anna Margaret Knopf on Nov. 1, 1952 and she survives. Other survivors include: son Mark (Wanda) Orr of Letts; daughters Carol (Jim) Hull of Waycross, Ga., and Diane (Kerry) Jackson of Westchester, Ohio; 10 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren; brothers John Orr of McClelland, Iowa and Gilbert Orr of Omaha, Neb.

He was preceded in death by his parents, sons Stephen and Daniel, granddaughter Rachel Ann Orr, his brothers Leo, Harvey, Percy and Manley and sisters Rita Bierle, Thelma Thie and Eileen Woodworth.

Mr. Orr was a farmer and had worked for Hoosier Energy and the Indiana State Highway Department. He was a Navy veteran of WWII.

Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. on Friday, March 12 at the Stratton-Karsteter Funeral Home in Versailles with Rev. William Robinson officiating. Burial will be in the Indiana Veterans Cemetery at Madison. Visitation will be Thursday from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Memorials may be given to the donor’s choice.
