Greensburg —
Hazel D. Grissom, 76, of Columbus, died at 8:25 p.m., Saturday, Nov. 10, 2012, at Aspen Health Campus in Greensburg.
Mr. Grissom retired from Reeves Pulley as a machine operator.
His family and grandsons were very important to him, and he loved his dog Coco.
He was active in his community’s activities, playing bingo and cards and watching western movies on movie night.
Born in Edmonton, Ky., Nov. 24, 1935, Mr. Grissom was the son of Gutherie and Ollie Mae Poore Grissom.
Survivors include a daughter: Robin (Randy) Sowders of Greensburg; a step-son: Mark Jessie of Columbus; grandsons: Andy Sowders of Columbus and Trevor Sowders of Greensburg; a step-grandson: Jason Jessie of Columbus; a brother: Joe (Charlotte) Grissom of Nabb; sisters: Carolyn Compton, Bernice Fields and Jennifer Harrison, all of Columbus; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Mr. Grissom was preceded in death his parents and two infant brothers.
The funeral will be conducted at 1 p.m., Thursday, Nov. 15, at Barkes, Weaver & Glick Funeral Home on Washington Street in Columbus, with the Rev. Larry Fields and Pastor Charles Kennedy officiating.
Family and friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m., Wednesday, Nov. 14, and from noon until service time Thursday.
Burial will be at Garland Brook Cemetery.
