Roberta Jean Mays, 57, of Batesville passed away Wednesday, Nov. 7, at her daughter’s home in Batesville.
Born June 25, 1955, in (Highland Park) Detroit, Mich., she was the daughter of Vernon and the late Christine (Smith) Cornett. A 1973 graduate of North Decatur High School, she worked many years at BCA, and eight years at Hill-Rom. After 16 years, she was still employed at Valeo. She was a member of the New Point Christian Church.
Roberta, a very devoted mother and grandmother, is survived by her children Rhonda Phillips and Christy (Mike) Lecher of Batesville; her father Vernon Cornett of New Point; nine grandchildren; and sisters, Teresa Moody of Osgood, and Cheryl Agapie of Sunman.
She was preceded in death by her mother Christine Cornett, and son Joshua (Heather) Mays of Batesville.
Visitation will be Sunday, Nov. 11, 2012, from 6 to 8 p.m. Services will be at 12 p.m., Monday, Nov. 12, at New Point Christian Church, with Mark Vice officiating. Burial will be in Rossburg Cemetery in Newpoint.
