Helen Louise (Taylor) McCammon, 97

Greensburg — Helen Louise (Taylor) McCammon, 97, of Greensburg passed on Nov. 2, 2012.

She was born Oct. 31, 1915 in Greensburg, the daughter of John William and Sadie (Elder) Taylor.

Helen was a 1933 graduate of Greensburg High School.

She married H. Neal McCammon April 24, 1946.

Helen was a homemaker. Her choice of giving up a career proved to be one that certainly benefited all of her family in a way that could never have been replaced. That is her legacy.

Helen was a member of First Christian Church, Order of Eastern Star #147, Evening Lecture Circle of Department Club, Methodist Church where she taught Sunday school for 12 years, Red Cross, Bridge Club, Delta Theta Tau Sorority holding office of President, Vice President, and Corresponding Secretary.

Survivors include her children: Stephen Gene McCammon and Ann (Jesse) Peters, grandchildren: Dawn (Eric) Peters-Keith, Shawn (Rebecca) Peters, Matthew McCammon, and David McCammon, great-grandchildren: Lochlin Peters, Isabella Peters, Gabriel Peters, Alexandra Peters, Parker Keith, and Madison Keith.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband and an infant son.

A graveside service will be held at 1 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 6, at South Park Cemetery, Rev. Gregory Pimlott officiating.
