Greensburg —
Kenneth Wayne Dillman, 48, of North Vernon and formerly of Hartsville, died Monday, Jan. 21, 2013 at Columbus Regional Hospital.
The funeral will be at 1:30 p.m. Saturday at Norman Funeral Home in Hope.
Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until service time with Rod Rains officiating.
Burial will be at Garland Brook Cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be donated to Jennings Health Care Center Activity Fund through the funeral home.
Born Feb. 1, 1964 in Greensburg, Kenneth Wayne was the son of Wayne and Jackie Powell Dillman.
He was a very special person who spent much of his life with health complications but always had a smile and never complained. He was a very strong and caring person with a big heart who loved being with people and making them laugh. He never met a stranger. He always told people they looked nice and thanked them when they did something nice for him.
No matter who it was, when they were leaving, he would tell them to wear their seatbelt. He was a very spiritual person who enjoyed the church services he attended and always prayed for people when they were sick. He loved babies and animals and especially loved spending time with his dog Sally Sue out in the country. He loved christmas and decorating for it.
Kenneth Wayne was a big fan of Elvis. He loved to dress up as him and play his guitar. One of his goals in life was to visit Graceland. He also loved going to the Hartsville Fireman’s Fish Fry every summer where he would get his picture taken with the Elvis impersonator and dance the night away. He loved Elvis but Lisa Marie Presley was his number one idol. They shared the same birthday.
He always dreamed of working at Walmart someday. That did not happen but he did work on the assembly line at DSI for awhile.
Kenneth Wayne’s life here on earth was cut short but while he was here he lived it to the fullest.
He is survived by his sister, Terry (David) Herron of Hartsville; aunts, Carole Alvey of Columbus and Karen Hartwell of Greensburg and lots of cousins and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, grandparents, Harold and Gladys Powell and Paul and Dorothy Dillman; aunts: Marlene Hoy and Janie Powell, and Alma Hadden, his companion of 10 years.
