Wilma “Jean” (Keith) Conwell, 83

Greensburg — Wilma “Jean” (Keith) Conwell, 83, of Westport, went home to be with the Lord Jan. 17, 2013 at Columbus Regional Hospital.

A resident of Westport all her life, Jean enjoyed life to the fullest. Her family always came first.

She was a member of Westport Baptist Church and enjoyed singing in the choir for many years, also singing in trios, duets and solos. She loved decorating and had helped decorate many homes. She loved calligraphy, oil painting, making greeting cards, and yes, going to her Canasta Club and just going out to eat with her many friends.

She was a former member of the Order of Eastern Star # 570 and served as Republican Precinct Committeewoman for Sandcreek South for many years.

She worked for the Westport Natural Gas Company for 25 years, which she and her husband owned. She was born near Moscow, Decatur County Oct. 29, 1929, the daughter of Lester and Edith M. (Jones) Keith.

She was a 1947 graduate of Sandcreek High School.

She married Robert F. “Bob” Conwell Jan. 17, 1947 who preceded her in death.

Also preceding her in death: one son, Lyle Keith Conwell; her parents, her sister, Dorothy Layton, and one grandson, Charles Wayne Brown.

Survivors include her daughters: Judy Lynn (Jim) Matthews, of Salem, Jan Conwell, of Sheboygan, Wis., and Maribeth Holcomb, of Westport; her son, Kevin (Lisa) Conwell of Westport; eight grandchildren: Todd (Ginger) Conwell, Dana (Ryan) Witkemper, Mindi (Jeff) Pennington, Holly (Wes) Drury, Nicholas (Danielle) Holcomb, Carece (Mike) Robbins, Kyle Conwell, and Emily Conwell; two step-grandsons, Greg (Jennifer) Leman and Clint (Becky) Leman; 13 great-grandchildren; six step-great-grandchildren and three-step-great-great grandchildren.

A time of visitation will be from 2 to 6 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 20 at Bass and Gasper Funeral Home.

The funeral service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Monday, Jan. 21 at the funeral home, Rev. David A. Scaggs officiating.

Burial will follow at the Westport Cemetery.

Memorial contributions may be made through the funeral home to the American Lung Association or the Westport Baptist Church Building Fund.
