Diana M. Tichenor, 48

Greensburg — Diana M. Tichenor, 48, of Westport, passed away Wednesday, Jan. 9, 2013 at Columbus Regional Hospital.

She was born Dec. 26, 1964 in Greensburg, the daughter of Norbert C. and Pauline Lavon (Carr) Schwering.

She was a lifelong resident of Decatur County.

She had worked for Aging & Community Services of South Central Indiana at the Westport site for nine years, Odd Fellows Nursing Home for four years and the Westport Cemetery for 10 years.

She enjoyed fishing, riding 4-wheelers, spending time with her grandchildren and family, cooking, puzzles and word search books.

She married Mike Tichenor in Westport Sept. 2, 1995 and he survives along with her daughters, Marcia (Scott) Benefiel and Heather Schwering both of Westport; her sister, Norma Jean Schwering of Kokomo; her brothers, Eugene (Amy) Schwering of North Vernon and Darryl (Diane) Schwering of Shelbyville; her grandchildren: Brianna Benefiel and Dominick Benefiel, both of Westport.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

Funeral services will begin at 11 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 12 at Bass & Gasper Funeral Home, Pastor Mike Bartlett officiating.

Burial will follow in Westport Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 4 until 8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.

Memorial contributions may be made through the funeral home to Aging & Community Services.
