Joseph Frank Baltus, 82

Greensburg — Joseph Frank Baltus, 82, of Greensburg, passed away peacefully at his home surrounded by his family Nov. 3, 2012.

He was born May 9, 1930 in Cincinnati, Ohio, the son of Myrtle (Wilson) and Pieter Josef Baltus.  

He was a graduate of Sandcreek High School in 1948. Joe was a veteran of the United States Navy and served during the Korean War.

On Dec. 8, 1957, he married Janet Lou Goodpaster. Joseph was an electrician, he worked for Allison Gas Turbin for 20 years, Cummins for 10 years and Chrysler for 10 years. He was a member of First Baptist Church in Greensburg.

He is survived by his wife, Janet Lou Baltus; children: Pamela Sue Loyd, Fredrick Josef Baltus, Jim Baltus; a brother, William Roger Baltus; grandchildren: Michelle Davis, Melissa (Michael) Ferrara, Joe (Kristol) Loyd, Carrie Baltus, Adam Baltus and Patrick (Emily) Baltus; 11 great-grandchildren: Bryna, Darian, Kayla, Micha, Rose, Halen, Tyler, Hannah, Malachi, Cheyenne, and Laykin.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Bertram Baltus.

A visitation for family and friends will be held from 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 6 at Gilliland-Howe Funeral Home.

Funeral services will begin at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 7 at the Funeral Home, Rev. David Thompson and Connie Barr officiating.

Burial follows in South Park Cemetery.

Memorial Contributions can be made to Hospice of South-Central Indiana.
