Mary Joan “Joanie” Stonebraker 84
Mary Joan “Joanie” Stonebraker 84, of Laurel, Indiana passed away Saturday September 12, 2009 at her residence.
She was born July 24, 1925 in Fort Wayne, Ind., the daughter of Maurice & Sophie (Kolb) Brubaker. She was a graduate of Indiana University with a degree in English. She was a Homemaker. She married John Robert Stonebraker on June 30, 1951 in Fort Wayne and he preceded her in death August 3, 1996.
She is survived by One Daughter: Deborah Sue Thompson of Butlerville, Indiana, and Two Grandsons Matthew & Nicholas Thompson also survive. She was preceded in death by her parents, Husband, and One Brother: John Brubaker.
A visitation for family and friends will be held at the Gilliland-Howe Funeral Home on Wednesday, Sept. 16, 2009 from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Funeral services will be held at the Wolf Creek Community Church in Wallace, Ind., on Thursday, Sept. 17, 2009 at 1:00 p.m. with a visitation one hour prior to the service. Brother Don Perry will be officiating and burial will follow at the Wolf Creek Cemetery in Wallace, Ind.
