Q: What drives you to enter/remain in/return to the arena of elected public service?
A: Because I enjoy the work and I believe I have done a good job of being accountable for the taxpayers’ money. I would like to continue to work for all citizens of Decatur County.
Q: As someone who may be serving Greensburg/Decatur County in office in 2013 and beyond, what is one thing, more than any other, you want to see accomplished?
A: I would like to see the Greensburg airport situation settled; however, I am not a fan of eminent domain.
Q: Describe your experience with business. Have you ever owned or managed one?
A: No, I haven’t, however I give my utmost attention to any business that comes to this area.
Q: Do you believe city/county government should contribute to charitable causes? How should contributions to charitable causes be determined?
A: Not unless they are an approved charitable institution approved by the IRS.
Q: Do you believe repercussions are in order for public officials who deliberately violate the Open Door Law or Access to Public Records Act?
A: Yes. I do think there are some instances of problems with boards that do not have direct oversight by an elected official.
Q: Do you support expansion of the Greensburg Municipal Airport? What is the primary reason for your position?
A: Yes, I personally support it, but I do not want to see anyone’s property acquired by eminent domain.
Q: In the position you seek, how would you work to increase accountability and transparency in Greensburg/Decatur County government?
A: Personally, I can’t see how we could be more transparent. We are willing to show the budgets to anyone and explain the funds.
