Church Hopes People Run To Cookie Walk Fundraiser

Joe Hornaday

Greensburg and Decatur County residents will be able to satisfy their sweet tooths this holiday season, with help from the Greensburg United Methodist Church.

This year’s Cookie Walk, organized by the United Methodist Women, is set to commence at 7:30 a.m. on Thursday, Dec. 3 at the church’s social hall. At the event, guests will be invited to fill up a box with several cookies, all for the price of one box, which sells for only $6. Those loading up their boxes with cookies will have a variety of the treats to choose from, co-organizer Barbara Welch explained.

The money gained by the church at the fundraising Cookie Walk will help to continue mission projects, to which the church is always contributing, Welch said.

The Cookie Walk begins at 7:30 a.m. with no set end time, but will close when the boxes and cookies are gone.

“Of course, it’s over when we run out of cookies,” Welch explained.

The Greensburg United Methodist Church is located at 301 N. Broadway Street.
