County EMS Grateful for Eagles’ Support
Recently, local fire departments received significant assistance from the Eagles Grant for Automated External Defibrillators (AEDs) and other equipment.
Because of the grant, the purchasing of some life-saving devices were made possible, and the crews from Decatur County EMS are extending their appreciation.
The items were recently purchased with the assistance of the Greensburg Eagles Lodge. This grant has allowed Decatur County EMS an opportunity to purchase items and supplies that will be used to supplement the fire departments throughout out the county. The group was fortunate to have received funding, to purchase additional training devices and aids that will also be made available to responders in Decatur County, according to a statement from Decatur County EMS. The generosity and support of donations and programs such as grant from the Eagles allows emergency service providers additional funding that may not have been available through normal means.
Members of your Decatur County EMS would like to challenge everyone to receive the life saving training of Cardio Pulmonary Resuscitation, better known as CPR. CPR only takes a few hours to learn, but it is a life saving procedure that almost anyone can do. Anyone who is interested is urged to contact the Decatur County Memorial Hospital or Decatur County EMS for instructional dates for the CPR courses per the American Heart guidelines or a Red Cross CPR instructor.
