Candy, Costumes In Tune With GCHS Band’s Halloween Concert

Greensburg Community High School is having their fourth annual Halloween Concert at 7 p.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 27.

Anyone is welcome to attend the free concert, which will be held in the high school auditorium.

Matt Clifford, Greensburg’s band director, said he originally started the Halloween-themed concerts to cater to the elementary students. He thought they needed a concert to reach out and give them a glimpse of what band is like. Now, the concert has also become an event for the whole community.

Band and jazz band will be featured in the concert, doing a variety of family and children derived music, including pieces from The Incredibles and Spider-Man. Everyone in the band will be decked out in Halloween costumes. Even the directors will be dressed up. The audience is welcome to join in the fun, Clifford said, and come dressed in their favorite costume.

After the concert, children can look at the different instruments they may be interested in playing someday. In addition, those who attend can expect to receive candy.
