Truck Show Brings Big Rigs To Fairgrounds
On Friday and Saturday, the Tower Tree Truck Show will take to the fairgrounds for the third year.
The free event is sponsored by LB Trucking, Lucas Oil, Rockwood Products and Blue River Bouncers and will donate proceeds to Decatur County Head Start.
On Friday, the show will have a special guest from the History Channel show Ice Road Truckers. Alex Debogorski will be present until sunset, organizer Kathy Verseman said. Debogorski has driven trucks on the ice road in Canada for 26 years. While many truckers travel long distances to the town of Yellowknife to begin journeying back and forth with their heavy loads, Debogorski is a native of the town. In fact, he was once its mayor. He has 11 children and 7 grandchildren and has proved an audience favorite on the show due to his positive outlook and enduring faith in God.
In addition to this special guest, Friday will also feature a light show. The fun will continue on Saturday with a bounce house, face painting and free ice cream for the kids. Fifteen classes of trucks will also be judged.
Throughout the weekend, a variety of booths will be set up for the enjoyment of those in attendance. Door prizes will also be offered.
