Ladies Had A Lot To Do Before Lunch

Elizabeth Bailey

A small crowd of women gathered Tuesday morning at Highpoint Orchard for a Shop Til You Drop event that kicked off Ladies Day of the Sesquicentennial celebration.

Arbor Grove Village sponsored the day and offered reusable shopping bags to the participants as they dined on fresh doughnuts, muffins and breakfast casserole before heading out into Greensburg for a shopping adventure.

The event encouraged participants to visit Crafts and Occasions; Minears; Jean and Co. Decorating; Stephensons Jewelry; Wooden Bench; Lottie’s Diva Boutique; Sherwin Williams; Gilded Lily; Huntington Jewelers; Rainbow Books and Gifts; Hibbett’s Sports and Radio Shack. At each stop, the ladies were to acquire the initials of a staff member, verifying they had completed the shopping circuit.

Beginning at 9 a.m., the ladies had until a 12 p.m. luncheon to visit all 12 shops. They said they had not set a limit to their spending for the day, but rather had embarked upon the event as a shopping adventure.

“We don’t even know what we’re doing yet,” the ladies noted at 8 a.m. “We’re along for the ride.”
