REX Sets Up Shop Further Down I-74 for Pipeline Construction

SUNMAN – The Town of Sunman may soon have some temporary citizens taking up residence in one of its trailer parks.

Dave Lattire, Trees Mobile Home Park manager, told Sunman Town Council members Oct. 16 he has been asked by Rockies Express Pipeline workers if they could set up their mobile homes on about 10 lots in this location while they are working in the area.

“Right now, we are looking at three or four months, but it may run into five months .... They have 39 miles of welded pipe” to install, Lattire told the council.

Lattire announced he has talked to Tad Brinson, Ripley County Area Plan Commission director, about applying for a special variance. A hearing is set for Tuesday, Oct. 28.

“If this all goes through, they’ll be in there the first of November.”

He stressed, “I’m just trying to help these guys out .... I kind of felt privileged that they wanted to come to Sunman,” but told them “if they cause any trouble, they’re gone.”
