Chamber cuts ribbon on Just Loafin’

Greensburg — Friday morning marked the ceremonial “grand opening” of Angela Hall’s Just Loafin’, courtesy of the Greensburg/Decatur County Chamber of Commerce.

In business since the beginning of January, the new eatery and Chamber of Commerce member — which specializes in baked goods, soups and more — hosted its official ribbon-cutting just before the lunch rush Friday. It didn’t take long for the Chamber’s comically oversized scissors to make short work of the ceremonial red ribbon, which fell to the floor of the small diner amid applause from the many who showed up to celebrate the occasion. Then, in short order, it was back to business for Hall and her crew.

Hall told the Daily News business has been brisk thus far, and this steady stream of customers has allowed the fledgling eatery to expand a bit in its first few weeks.

Hall said Just Loafin’ will begin serving breakfast at 8 a.m. each Saturday, consisting of homemade biscuits and gravy and hash brown casserole with bacon. The diner is also open until 7 p.m. weeknights.

Hall explained that, in lieu of tips, Just Loafin’ accepts donations for local non-profit organizations. The month of February will see proceeds go to the Decatur County Memorial Hospital Capital Campaign. This will be followed in March with Big Brothers Big Sisters of Decatur County becoming the beneficiary.

Hall said one of the best aspects of her new business is the help she receives from her family. Husband Jeremy lends a hand when he can, while the couple's three children enjoy helping out after school.

Just Loafin' is staffed by Andrea Koors, Sara Kelso, Barb Noah and Mandy Gettys.
