After Prom Committee Looking For Party Planners

Parents of the Greensburg Community High School Junior and Senior students are busy planning the 2010 After Prom celebration, and are looking for community support.

The After Prom will be held on Sunday, May 2 at the Greensburg High School Fieldhouse immediately following prom. The group is confident that the celebration will prove to be a hit with both students, guests and parent volunteers alike as the floor of the fieldhouse will be transformed into a midway filled with games, contests, food and fellowship.

Providing a safe and enjoyable alternative to other post-prom forms of celebration, all GCHS juniors and seniors and their guests are invited to After Prom, regardless of whether they attended the prom, thereby providing a memorable night for all. Unfortunately, organizers realize that prom expenses prevent too many students from attending the prom itself. Their mission is to encourage all students join in the After Prom celebration. The only expense traditionally placed upon students is a $10 per couple admission charge to offset expenses. Ideally, the parent committee would like to see this fee waived, thus eliminating all barriers keeping the students from attending After Prom. The outstanding behavior exhibited by the students overwhelmingly demonstrates their appreciation. After Prom parents are grateful to proclaim that GCHS has experienced no serious student accidents or incidents since the inception of the After Prom celebration dating back to 1986.

Financial contributions may be made payable to GCHS After Prom and may be mailed to: Tony and Laura Owens, GCHS After Prom Treasures, 614 N. Franklin Street, Greensburg, Ind., 47240.
