Greensburg —
It may be Mardi Gras season, but for members of the Hospital Foundation's "Mardi Draw" committee, an activity of Tuesday's Gala represents the official kick-off of their sales efforts.
Members of the committee chaired by Pete Zillick met Monday afternoon at Decatur County Memorial Hospital (DCMH) to receive materials, updates and goals for the event.
According to Hospital Foundation Director, David Fry, the activity will allow members of the community to participate in the gala fun and support the important work of Decatur County Memorial Hospital.
"Each year we have a fun sales activity where everyone receives something for their contribution," he said. "This year is a bit different in that our volunteers will be selling representative masks that actually provide a return in the value of the gift with some masks containing more than "face" value."
Fry said the Hospital Foundation gala will be held Friday, April 13 at the Commons in downtown Columbus with a theme of "A Magical Masquerade."
"The size of our crowd and the event's wide variety of entertainment dictate our venue," he said. "Plus many of our guests like the uniqueness of the event and the ability to experience new locations."
Those helping to sell the masks in the "Mardi Draw" activity include Chair, Pete Zillick, Cleo Duncan, Sheila Doerflinger, Sharon Crites, Marcus Allen, Shelly Knecht, Darlene Roberts, Jean Long, Doug Banks and Greg Rust.
More information about the popular gala event and its activities may be found at www.dcmh.net/gala. Funds raised by the Hospital Foundation support the work at DCMH throughout the year.
