It’s Winter in Indiana - and what a winter it has been!!—so far!!
I wanted to take the time to personally thank those who have contributed to keeping our roads, streets and highways clean, safe and drivable through this winter season. Given the fact that we live in Indiana, it can be hard to predict and/or prepare for the harsh conditions that can sometimes hit our state during the winter months.
Everyone involved with the process of snow removal this winter including the Indiana Department of Transportation (INDOT), local community service members and also those people who plow the roads and streets in their spare time. I want everybody to know that your dedication to keeping the roads clean and safe for our Hoosier drivers hasn’t gone unnoticed or unappreciated. The service that these people provide to communities and the people of our state in invaluable.
I realize that it’s very difficult to make sure every single road and street in our towns and cities cleared of snow immediately after a snowstorm, but I would like to thank those involved. It is because of these people and their dedication to providing a much-needed service that all of us can carry on with our daily lives to make sure we can get to our jobs, classes, meetings or wherever it is that we need to go in a safe and timely manner.
Our public service employees perform their utmost, under extremely hazardous conditions. To our highway workers, police officers, firefighters, ambulance and medical personnel and utility crews; I want to send a sincere thank you to all of you. Also, to everyone who is out there working so hard, I'd like to offer my deepest appreciation and gratitude.
