Dear Editor,
Thursday, December 21, was a big day for me. I would like to thank the Greensburg Junior High eighth graders and teachers for nominating me for Extreme Makeover, Home Edition.
It was nice of you to come out to my house. I enjoyed seeing all of you. The signs you made were awesome. Whether I am picked or not, it made me feel really good.
Many people helped to make the video for the nomination. I would like to thank superintendent Tom Hunter and principal Garry Moore for allowing the kids to come, Mayor Frank Manus for his enthusiastic support, Greensburg police officers Bruce Copple and Bill Meyerrose for taking time out of their vacations, Greensburg firemen B Shift for showing up with a fire truck and being in the video, Todd Reed for making signs that lasted in the rain, and Jesse Wallace and his crew for filming the video. The community’s support has been great.
Thanks also to Greensburg school bus drivers Don Black, Bill Fisher, Leon Johnson, and Bill Pratt, who all donated their time to bring all the kids to my house in the rain.
I really appreciate everyone’s support. Thanks to everyone.
Sincerely,
Aaron McCrary

Reader reacts to State of the Union
Dear Editor,
President Obama's State of the Union address contained much of the same lofty rhetoric we've become familiar with over the years, and was actually somewhat anti-climactic. -
Is Romney still a conservative? TV media doesn't think so
Dear Editor:
It's interesting to note that television reporters and talking heads now use the term "conservative" to refer only to those on the extreme far right. -
Why the rush?
Dear Editor,
Why the rush to pass Right to Work? The Republicans have all the power and could pass this anytime during this short session. -
