As you know, the Airport Expansion project is a very hot topic in Greensburg. Recent Council meetings have seen an increased interest in the topic by not only the public, but by the elected council members. I'm sure you are aware that there will be a joint session of Council with the BOAC on July 26 at City Hall. The opponents of this project have been very vocal in the community, as well as in the Council chamber. There is no question as to where they stand. On July 26, the proponents of this project will once again, have their say.
This is an issue that, I believe, the taxpayers of Greensburg and our industry leaders should weigh in on. I encourage the citizens of Greensburg to contact thier Council representatives and express their view.
When I ran for council in 2007, I promised to represent the people of District 4. I genuinely care about how they feel. My personal views on this project are secondary to what the majority of my constituents wish. I have set up a special e-mail account for airport expansion views.ÊI encourage as many as possible to voice their support or opposition to this project.
