Greensburg —
The Family of Marian F. Judy wish to thank the Greensburg Staff of Crown Pointe Senior Community; Expression Florist and Gifts; Where the Cookie Crumbles; the Holiday Inn Express of Greensburg; Rev. David Crowley, Pastor of Springhill & Kingston Presbyterian Churches; and any others of Greensburg community we may have unintentionally overlooked for all your help and kindness to our Mother.
Mother, Marian F. Judy, was 97 and a half, born in Trafalgar, lived in St Paul for all her schooling, married in 1930 then widowed in 1970, and had lived in the Burney and Hope area since we moved from Ohio in 1951. She raised four children, she watched us grow, attend college, raise our families and mature. Mother herself went to IUPUC at age 66 to get an AA degree; then traveled the world Ð oh, she loved travel and was always packed and ready to go.
Since 2004 she was a resident of Crown Pointe Senior Community, where the staff was truly loving and caring, until she passed away last week. Crown Pointe was a second family for Mom since most of us live far from Greensburg.
But when we return we make our temporary home at the Holiday Inn Express, and depend upon the great staff of Manager Stephanie, Mary Alice in housekeeping and the ever-cheerful Betty at breakfast --- all the staff has been so wonderful over the years.
"Expression Florist and Gifts" made most of the wonderful floral displays for her funeral Ð many thanks. Also thanks to "Where The Cookie Crumbles" for the beautiful creations in Mom's memory for Crown Pointe staff and residents. And, the women of the Hope Moravian Church which Mom was a member for over 40 years Ð thanks for the beautiful lunch after the funeral service.
For Rev. David Crowley, who made Mom's CP stay so pleasant; she collected your columns from the Daily News and kept them in a scrapbook, which we didn't know until after you gave such a wonderful funeral honoring our mother. Only then did we look over her scrapbooks.
Mom's eyesight gave out toward the end, but she always enjoyed the Daily News so we subscribed to it for her for as long as she could read.
We were truly sorry to miss meeting all the many who had interactions with Mom. The three of us who live out of state wish to especially thank our sister Karen, her husband Sheriff Daryl Templeton, and their families, for all the care, assistance and kindness they showed Mom for past 40 years.
To the entire Greensburg and Decatur County community -- Thank You.
Dick and Mary Lou Judy, Stevens Point, Wis.
Barb and Clay Sherman, Orange, Calif.
Pat Blackwell, Charlotte, N.C.
and, Karen and Daryl Templeton, Burney/Greensburg

Concerned about class warfare
Dear Editor,
Millionaires, CEOs, "Big Oil" and drug companies are unpopular with most people, and that is why the President wants to tax them. -
Legislation is a good start
Dear Editor,
Bravo, State Senator Jean Leising (R-Oldenburg)!
Thank you for authoring Senate Resolution 10, establishing a legislative study committee to examine the causes of and solutions for higher-than-state-average unemployment rates and lower-than-state-average per capita income in certain Hoosier counties (New Castle Courier Times, Jan. 24). -
Considering taxes
Dear Editor,
Barack Obama recently tried to make the case that Jesus would want rich people to pay higher taxes. -

Dear Editor,
The First Amendment of the Constitution of the United States of America reads as follows: "Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech or of the press, or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances. -
Reader reacts to State of the Union
Dear Editor,
President Obama's State of the Union address contained much of the same lofty rhetoric we've become familiar with over the years, and was actually somewhat anti-climactic. -
Is Romney still a conservative? TV media doesn't think so
Dear Editor:
It's interesting to note that television reporters and talking heads now use the term "conservative" to refer only to those on the extreme far right. -
Why the rush?
Dear Editor,
Why the rush to pass Right to Work? The Republicans have all the power and could pass this anytime during this short session. -
