Everyone knows the Christmas story of the baby wrapped in swaddling clothes and laying in a manger. But Greensburg and Decatur County residents who wish they could have been there will get their chance to relive that historic moment later this month.
From 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Sunday, Dec. 13 at the Greensburg United Methodist Church’s northern lawn, a “Live Nativity” will be on full display to ring in the Christmas season and remind residents what the holiday is all about. Visitors will be able hear the story, see the people and watch the animals while they experience what it was like on the very first Christmas.
Hot chocolate and refreshments will be served to those who attend, courtesy of the church. In addition to the treats and scene, guests will also be able to donate non-perishable food items, which will be collected at the live Nativity for use a the local Human Services food pantry.
The Greensburg United Methodist Church is located at 301 N. Broadway, downtown at the corner of North Street and Broadway.
