Eagles Spread Wings To Honor Agencies
GREENSBURG - On April 4, the local Fraternal Order of Eagles, Aerie 927, hosted a dinner at the Aerie home honoring our local agencies.
Mayor Gary Herbert welcomed all to the dinner. David Colson, secretary of the Aerie, and Bernie Wesseler, president, presented the checks. The folloing agencies all sent representatives of their group for dinner, dancing and monetary awards for their services. Each Volunteer Fire Station and Decatur County EMS received a check for $200. The Sheriff’s Department and Police Department received $100, the Marshal’s offices from New Point and St. Paul as well as the Westport Police Department each received $75. In addition, grants from the Max Baer Fund, Grand Aerie, totalling $5,800 were preseted to Adams, Millhousen and Burney for AED equipment. WIth the exception of the Marshals’ offices and EMS, Karen Weigel, treasurer, presented checks of $50 from the Ladies Auxiliary.
