For the first time, the Greensburg Decatur County Chamber of Commerce luncheon was replaced by the first local meeting of Rainmakers, an organization that offers networking for people in business.
From now on, Networking at Noon will be replaced with Rainmakers events. The organization sets itself apart from others because of the philosophy that governs its functions and members based on the acronym of SHARE
S – STRATEGIC RELATIONSHIPS
H – HOSPITALITY
A – ACCOUNTABILITY
R – RECRUITING
E – ENCOURAGE and “ENSPIRE”
With 1,500 members in the state of Indiana, the organization arrived in Greensburg to a turnout of 70 people who spent their lunch hour networking and learning about the organization. One symbolic activity took place when attendees were asked to write their goals and dreams on a balloon, all of which were released in front of the Fairfield Inn. Food was provided by Chili’s.
Membership in the organization requires a $99 initiation fee and a fee of $39 per month, which allows members to attend a wide variety of networking opportunities. Members of the local Chamber of Commerce can have their initiation fee waived and enjoy a $30 per month membership fee.
By supporting one another’s businesses, members hope to “make it rain” for everyone involved.
The organization was founded by Tony Scelzo and those interested in learning more can visit www.gorainmakers.com or call Jennifer Sturges at the Chamber of Commerce at 663-2832.
