Greensburg —
The Greensburg-Decatur County Public Library is continuing to "geek the library!"
For the last several weeks we have been encouraging residents of Decatur County to add a new verb to their vocabulary Ñ "geek." Geek the Library features local educational material that encourages the public to talk about what they "geek"Ñwhether it's dogs, doughnuts or doodling! Everyone is passionate about something Ñ everyone "geeks" somethingÑand the Greensburg-Decatur County Public Library supports them all.
The Weekly Geek for next week is ANIMALS! Stop by the library on Saturday, Sept. 17 from 9 Ð 11 a.m. for Doggie Day at the Library. You can stop by to read with Nelson, a trained Old English Sheepdog who loves to listen to stories. You can make a craft, meet some animals from the Animal Shelter, learn more about training classes available in town, meet a local groomer, and have a snack! No registration is required for this free program.
Jessica Williams is our "Geek of the Week." You can begin to look for posters featuring Jessica and other community members around town. Jessica geeks kittens. Jessica can "get her geek on" at the library by checking out some of the following materials:
Kitten: Watch Me Grow! by Alissa Heyman and Nancy Sheehan
Junior Pet care: Kittens by Zuza Vrbova
Patch the Perfect Kitten by Jenny Dale

The campaign hopes to inspire a conversation about our incredible public libraries and their urgent need for increased support.
You can learn more about the campaign by visiting www.geekthelibrary.org or check it out on Facebook by searching for Geek the Library.
Stop by the Library and order a T-shirt that lets the world know what it is that you geek! Shirts are $10.00 each and can be ordered at the check-out desk.
