Chargers sweep ‘Battle of the Books’
Voracious young readers representing four local school systems put their “gray matter” to the test in Saturday’s fifth annual “Battle of the Books” at the Greensburg-Decatur County Public Library.

Young archers pull and release at Saturday exhibition match
On Saturday morning, members of the Greensburg Junior High School (GJHS) and the South Decatur Elementary School (SDES) archery teams lined up and released, competing in an exhibition match sponsored at SDES by the National Wild Turkey Federation (NWTF) and Greensburg’s Cutting Edge Sporting Goods.

The city of Greensburg said goodbye to long-serving civil servant Rick Emsweller Tuesday night, sending the veteran Greensburg Fire Department (GFD) officer and firefighter off with a ceremony and a dinner at City Hall.
