March 21

1 to 3 p.m. - Spring Break fun in the newly-renovated teen area of the Greensburg-Decatur County Public Library.

7:30 p.m. - Daughters of Isabella will host regular monthly meeting at Greensburg's Knights of Columbus Hall, with a rosary being said at 7 p.m. Linda Weigel and Nancy Riedeman will host.



March 22

1:30 p.m. - Greensburg Adult Center bowling at Parkside Lanes.

5 to 8 p.m. - New Point Community Volunteer Fire Department hosts all-you-can-eat fish fry. Cost for adults is $8; cost for children 10 and under is $4.

6:30 p.m. - Bridge at Greensburg Adult Center.



March 23

7 to 11:30 a.m. - Holy Trinity Lutheran Church of Greensburg will host a breakfast of pancakes, sausage, scrambled eggs, biscuits and gravy and beverages. Event is a free will offering.

9 a.m. - State Rep. Randy Frye (R-Greensburg) and State Rep. Jim Lucas (R-Seymour) will attend a Third House meeting at Senior Resources of Jennings County, 515 Buckeye Street in North Vernon. The public is invited and encouraged to attend.

10 a.m. - Daily News Easter Egg Hunt at Decatur County Family YMCA.

10 a.m. to 2 p.m. - The Easter Bunny will visit Walgreens. Children will receive a free 4 x 6 photo.

4 to 8 p.m. - Bedel benefit dinner and silent auction at Millhousen Volunteer Fire Department to help Mark Bedel with medical bills following treatment for heart problems.

6 p.m. - Greensburg Community High School Pirates boys basketball team faces Fort Wayne-Concordia for the Class 3A State Championship at Banker's Life Fieldhouse in Indianapolis.



March 24

Palm Sunday

7 a.m. to 1 p.m. - Napoleon Fire Department will host a breakfast at the firehouse. Event is a free-will donation and includes pancakes, sausage, eggs, biscuits and gravy.



March 25

Passover begins at sundown

1:30 p.m. - Scrabble at Greensburg Adult Center.

6:30 p.m. - Euchre at Greensburg Adult Center.

7 p.m. - Greensburg Board of Aviation Commissioners meet at City Hall.



March 26

1 to 3 p.m. - Greensburg Adult Center monthly dance with "Scoop" and the Guys.

1 to 3 p.m. - Euchre at Greensburg Adult Center.

1 to 3:30 p.m. - Spring Break movie for teens. The movie is based on/inspired by the Guardians of Childhood book series by William Joyce and is rated PG. Enjoy the movie in large screen format complete with popcorn and drinks. Registration required.



March 27

10 to 11:30 a.m. - Easter EGGS-travaganza for grades 6 to 12 at Greensburg-Decatur County Public Library.

11:30 a.m. - Greensburg Adult Center monthly lunchtime pitch-in.

1 to 3 p.m. - Euchre at Greensburg Adult Center.

6 p.m. - Historic Preservation Society meets at City Hall.

6:30 p.m. - Greensburg TIF Board meets at City Hall.



March 28

9:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. - Greensburg Adult Center spring shopping trip to Edinburgh Outlet Mall. Cost for the trip is $6 for transportation by the Center bus. Lunch at any nearby restaurant is on your own.

1 to 3 p.m. - Spoons tournament for grades 6 to 12 at Greensburg-Decatur County Public Library. Spoons is a card game. Instructions will be given before the tournament begins.



March 29

Good Friday

12:10 to 12:50 p.m. - Good Friday Community Church Service at Greensburg United Methodist Church. Church is located at 301 North Broadway. Offering will be collected for the Agape Center. For more information, call 663-5683.

5 to 8 p.m. - New Point Community Volunteer Fire Department hosts all-you-can-eat fish fry. Cost for adults is $8; cost for children 10 and under is $4.



March 30

10 a.m. - Decatur County ABATE hosts Easter Egg Hunt at Rebekah Park. Prizes given in all age groups. Easter Bunny will make an appearance.

6:30 p.m. - Annual Devin Lee Parsons candlelight vigil at North Park.



March 31

Easter Sunday



April 1

8 a.m. - Decatur County Commissioners meet in Decatur County Courthouse meeting room.

5 p.m. - City of Greensburg Board of Works meets at City Hall.

5 to 7 p.m. - Decatur County Extension Open House. Extension Educators will have displays of programming efforts and will report on their programs at 6:15 p.m. Certificate of Distinction Award winners announced at 6:30 p.m. Public is invited.

7 p.m. - Greensburg Common Council meets at City Hall.



April 6

9 a.m. - "Go Greensburg! Keep it a Cleansburg!" participants met at courthouse gazebo.



April 8

4 p.m. - The monthly meeting of the Alzheimer's Support Group will hold a meeting at the Greensburg-Decatur County Public Library. Everyone is welcome to attend.



April 9

5 p.m. - City of Greensburg Animal Control Board meets at City Hall.

6:30 p.m. - Good Shepherd Christian Academy Spring program at First Baptist Church sanctuary. Pre-school through sixth-graders will perform.

7 p.m. - Good Shepherd Christian Academy Science Fair in First Baptist Church Fellowship Hall.

7:15 p.m. - Informational kindergarten meeting in the Good Shepherd Christian Academy kindergarten class room. Child-care is provided. Parents of 2013-2014 kindergarten students who attend will receive $50 off their August tuition. Information about scholarships and school choice opportunities will be shared.



April 16

6 p.m. - Greenburg Water Board meets at City Hall.

7 p.m. - Greensburg Board of Zoning Appeals meets at City Hall.

7:30 p.m. - Greensburg Plan Commission meets at City Hall.



April 19

10 a.m. to noon - Grand Person’s Day at Good Shepherd Christian Academy. Must RSVP no later than April 11.



April 22

6:30 p.m. - Board of Aviation Commissioners meets at City Hall.



April 24

6 p.m. - Historic Preservation Society meets at City Hall.



April 27

Osgood Area Kiwanis is planning fourth annual "O So Good" 5K run/walk.



May 2

6:30 to 9 p.m. - Art on the Square celebrates fifth birthday with evening of pizza, beverages and a silent auction. Award winning artist Larry Rudolech will be painting and visiting with guests. May 6

7 p.m. - Greensburg Common Council meets at City Hall.



May 6 to May 11

PKC Invitational

Starting off the first three nights, Monday to Wednesday, they will be holding warm-ups. These events are for local contestants living within a few hundred miles of Greensburg as well as out-of-state hunters coming in early for the large events taking place later in the week.

Thursday night will be the first big night showcasing the PKC National Top 24 Treeing Walker Invitational. Greensburg will be hosts to competitors who previously qualified and are invited from all over the United States.

Thursday, Friday and Saturday nights will offer huge events open to all with cash prizes for the winners.



May 21

6 p.m. - Greensburg Water Board meets at City Hall.

7 p.m. - Greensburg Board of Appeals meets at City Hall.

7:30 p.m. - Greensburg Plan Commission meets at City Hall.



June 8

Arts and Cultural Council of Decatur County hosts annual "Plein-Air" Paint-out on the courthouse square.

Decatur County United Fund hosts annual Strawberry Festival on the courthouse square.

Arts and Cultural Council of Decatur County hosts music festival at High Point Orchard.

Ongoing

The St. Paul Senior Luncheon Site offers Exercise with Mozart at 10 a.m. Monday through Friday. Lunch is served at 11:30 a.m. on a donation basis for those 60 years and older.

The Historical Society of Decatur County museum is open Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. and Sunday from 1 to 4 p.m. Admission to the museum is free and special tours can be scheduled by calling the office at 663-2764.

Join us for hot, well-balanced, nutritional meals at the Greensburg Adult Center at 11:30 a.m. Monday through Friday. If you are over 60 years old, cost is based on donations. Under 60 years of age is $4 per meal. Call 663-2232 for lunch reservations. Fun and friendship are shared daily.

Decatur County Human Services, Inc. administers the Child Care Voucher Program for Decatur County. This program provides services through licensed providers for parents seeking quality child care. Currently there is a very small waiting list. To apply for this program come to Human Services with your most recent pay stub or current school schedule. You will be asked to fill out an application and provide some general information. Our child care providers are licensed through the SIEOC. Anyone wanting to become a licensed provider may also contact Human Services at 1939 N. Carver Street Greensburg or call (812)663-8830.

If your child enjoys listening to stories, singing, dancing and making crafts, you should stop by the Children’s Room at the Greensburg Library to sign up for Story Time. It is open to children ages 3 to 6 years of age. Classes are available Monday and Thursday evenings and Tuesday and Wednesday mornings. You may call the library at 663-4455 for more information and to get registered.

Nutritional meals are served everyday at 11:30 a.m. Monday through Friday at the St. Paul Civic Center, 120 E. Washington St., St. Paul. If you are 60 years of age or older, join us for fun and fellowship. You may contact Trudy Lewis at 765-525-6306. The Civic Center is open from 10:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.

The Family Food Pantry is accepting donations Monday to Friday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. You can help by calling 812-663-8830 or stopping by at 1939 North Carver Street, Greensburg.

All Hillenbrand doll plant retirees and spouses are invited to the Osgood Grub Company for lunch on the first Monday of every odd-numbered month. Meet, greet and eat at 11:30. All-you-can-eat buffet provided for $10.62, which includes tip.
