Tournaments are full of Hoosiers
As the NCAA men’s and women’s tournaments get started, the state if Indiana will be well represented. The IHSAA announced that 40 men’s players and 23 women’s players who competed in the state will be participating in this year’s tournament.

With a sectional championship in hand, the No. 8 Jac-Cen-Del Eagles turn their focus on regional action Saturday. The Eagles hope to soar past Morristown in the first round of the regional at Franklin.

Scoring drought dooms Chargers
A period of 10 minutes and 41 seconds, including all of the second period, spelled doom for the North Decatur Chargers last night. The Chargers were held scoreless for that period while the South Ripley Raiders pulled ahead of the Chargers en route to 61-47 victory in the first Sectional 44 semifinal.

NDE fifth grade wins tourney title
North Decatur Elementary was the site of a four-team tourney. The young Chargers fifth-grade boys team cut down the nets as tourney champs while the sixth-grade squad finished runner-up.

BHS scores 90 in win over Bears
The Batesville Bulldogs (17-3) broke the ice offensively and racked up 90 points in a win over the Shelbyville Golden Bears (9-12) Thursday night.
