Kitchen Kookies Home Extention Club
The Kitchen Kookies Home Extention Club met at the home of Helen Parker on february 7 with eight members present.
President, Alice, Woodhull, opened the meeting by having all to repeat the club creed and the pledge to the flag.
The hostess had devotions entitled “Waiting for God.” Barbara Smiley read the thought of the month. Helen led the group in singing, “Let me call you Sweetheart.”
Roll call was, do you remember the first Valentine you received from a favorite someone. Most responses were the decorative valentine boxes we had in grade school.
The secretary and treasurer reports were approved as given.
Alice and Polly McCreary attended Craft and Food Day at Jennings County. Alice showed several crafts that were made and a discussion was held on the several different kinds of pizza that were served for lunch.
For Health and Safety, Reba Thompson announced the health fair sponsored by the hospital, will be held on February 24 from 10 a.m. - 2 p.m. at the Greensburg Elementary School. March 6 is the date for the program on hormones. She then read several funny quips for laughter.
Alice reported on the council meeting. She stated the state cookbooks have been lowered to $10 per copy. She also announced the new county officer: President, Marilyn Danis; Vice President, Carolyn Martin; Secretary, Ann Stagge; Treasurer, Janet Bedel.
March 22 will be the Spring District Day at Dearborn County. The lunch price will be $8.75.
Alice attended the lesson session on January 31 and brought the lessons to be passed out.
The meeting closed by singing the club prayer. The lesson, do you know your medical history, was presented by Alice.
Delicious refreshments in keeping with Valentine’s Day were served on a beautifully decorated table. Alice won the lucky nampkin and Erma Moore the contest prize.
The next meeting will be March 7 at the home of Erma and she will present the lesson, Allergy, mold and moisture.
