The Linger Awhile Home Ec Club met at Wendy’s Restaurant on January 16 for their regular monthly meeting. President Theresa Ripperger conducted the meeting, beginning with the Homemakers Creed and the Pledge to the Flag. For Devotions, Irene Schutte read the poem, “My Guardian Angel” by Regina Wiencekl. Rosemary Schroeder read the thought of the month. Happy Birthday wishes were sung for Rosemary Schroeder, Mary Ann Ernstes and Teresa Horan. Roll Call was taken with seven members present answering the question “What have you learned from your club?” Paulette Duerstock read the minutes of two previous meetings and Diann Reisman gave the Treasurer’s Report.
Lessons will be offered at Jennings County Extension Office on January 31. The next Homemakers Council meeting is scheduled for February 5.
For Health and Safety we were reminded of the importance of eating healthy and getting enough exercise. All joined in reciting the Homemaker’s Prayer. Teresa Horan presented the lesson “Quick Cooking”. Teresa also won the 50/50 drawing.
