Moving to a Sunnier side of town
The owners of SunnySide Cafe, Andy Wilson and Doug Rynard, made the business decision not to re-new their lease at their current building after three years of operation.
“Downtown wasn’t the best location for the type of business we wanted to run,” Rynard said. “We wanted to have outside seating but the city wouldn’t let us do that. Parking wasn’t so great and the building was too small.”
Wilson and Rynard are also part owners of Crabby Bill’s located in Greensburg Crossing along State Road 3 near the Burger King.
“Weekdays work long because SunnySide was open from 6 a.m. till 2 p.m. and then Crabby Bill’s is open from 4 p.m. until 9 p.m.” Rynard explained. “So, instead of trying to run both business, we’re just going to combine the two.”
The new Crabby Bill’s will be the best of both worlds because the healthy menu served at SunnySide Cafe will carry over to blend with the surf and turf offerings of the seafood restaurant.
Also, the building where Crabby Bill’s is located is a lot bigger and can handle more people. All of this translates into a better business decision, according to Rynard.
“In the business, seating is money,” he said. “We’re hoping to attract a lot of people from the hotels since it’ll be closer and we’re going to be open all day.”
