Ripley County Crash Injures Three
Ripley County: This morning a crash in southern Ripley County resulted in three injuries. According to S/Tpr. Greg Grove, at approximately 8:30 this morning a 2002 Pontiac Grand Am driven by 22 year old Amanda Bradley of Versailles was traveling eastbound on CR 900S when for unknown reasons the vehicle left south side of the roadway and struck a tree. Bradley suffered a possible broken arm. There were two small children in the back seat who suffered minor bruising. Tpr. Grove said the driver was wearing a seat belt and both children were in child safety seats. Grove stated, "All three could have been seriously injured or killed if they hadn’t been restrained."
The crash is still under investigation. Assisting at the scene was Tpr. Mike Caplinger, Rescue 69, Ripley County Medic, and Friendship Fire Department.

Imel Jr. Convicted of Reckless Homicide
The jury deliberated for nearly four hours before returning with a guilty verdict of reckless homicide in the case against James Dennis Imel Jr. The charge was added during the second day as an additional consideration to the murder charge.

Local Man, 20, Charge In V ista Village Murder
James LaFramboise, 20, was officially charged with the murder of his great aunt, Mary Alice Simonson, 76, this afternoon. According to police reports, LaFramboise slit Simonson's throat then called for EMS around 9 a.m. He was taken into custody at the scene and charged about 3 p.m. Thursday.
