Greensburg —
Greensburg FFA sent eight members to the 83rd Indiana FFA State Convention June 18 to 20th on the campus of Purdue University.
For 2012, "I Believe" served as the theme for the three day convention as FFA members from across the state gathered to celebrate 83 years of premier leadership, personal growth, and career success through agriculture education.
Members from Greensburg had the chance to attend the six general sessions in Elliott Hall of Music and Loeb Playhouse. Members that attended included Chaela Martin, Ashley Koontz, Jake Hellmich, Becca McDole, Ethan Sebastian, Layne Sanders, Rylie Lang and Alex Simmermeyer.
At this year's convention, Ethan Sebastian and Layne Sanders represented the Greensburg FFA by serving as Delegates, they had the chance to vote on important topics centered around the future of the State FFA. Becca McDole was elected the District XII Treasurer for the 2012-2013 school year. Furthermore the Greensburg FFA had the honor of being named a Superior FFA Chapter in the State of Indiana.
The Indiana FFA State Convention is also an opportunity for FFA members to be rewarded for the hard work they have put in throughout the past year in Career Development Events, Supervised Agricultural Experiences, as well as chapter recognition.
The Indiana FFA Organization was established in 1929 and today serves 9,500 members as they develop their potential for premier leadership, personal growth, and career success through agriculture education.
